About Us
Placed at the foothills of the Pennines, Diggle House Farm has been in the Shaw family for five generations. Over the years, we have been the home of a variety of animals; pigs, sheep, cattle and poultry to name a few. As the farm has developed and evolved, the focus has shifted from farming to the growth of Saddleworth Stables, a livery yard, Choosey Cats Cattery and three family-run, self-catering cottages.
Owned and run by Nigel and Abigail, the cottages are finished to the highest of standards, and cater for people of all ages, needs and tastes. Something that we pride ourselves on is the ability for the cottages to be rented individually, in addition to possibilities, with adjoining doors between Jim's and Jenny's Cottages, to be booked together for parties up to 9.

With free WIFI throughout, each cottage has its own kitchen, bathroom, living and dining area, and is fitted with underfloor heating. Whilst Nell’s Cottage has its own washing machine, Jim’s Barn and Jenny’s Cottage share a utility room – a converted Dairy room with Washing Machine and Recycling Facilities which provides an authentic farmhouse atmosphere.

A good selection of books, DVDs, games and local information are available in all three cottages.
All bed linen and towels are provided.

A complimentary pack including newly laid eggs from the farm, (when available), tea and coffee etc. will be waiting for you on arrival.

There is level access to the upstairs of Jim's Barn and Jenny's Cottage from the car parking area, and a newly built gently sloping cobbled drive to access the front doors and Nell's Cottage.

The farm is located approximately one mile from the village of Diggle, which has two pubs, cafes, Post Office and village shop. There is a Band Club and a Children’s Activity Centre, along with three children’s parks, a country park, famous Canal Tunnel and acres and acres of green belt land with walks, cycling and bridleways.

We are non-smoking and, as a working farm, we are unable to accept pets in any of our cottages.
